HARRINGTON, Del.— Six Pennsylvania residents were arrested for possession of marijuana and related charges following an early Sunday morning traffic stop in Harrington.
Harrington police officers on patrol said when they stopped a GMC Acadia for a speeding violation, they made contact with the driver and noticed the smell of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.
Investigators said a probable cause search revealed 14.1 grams of marijuana and related paraphernalia inside the vehicle. According to police, all six of the vehicle's occupants denied knowledge of the drugs and were subsequently arrested.
The suspects were identified as 31-year-old Ali Rashidian of Broomall, Pa., 20-year-old Kirsten Harris of Philadelphia, 26-year-old Amar Vyas of Glenside, Pa., 31-year-old Cortez Wilson of Philadelphia, 27-year-old Nafis Reese of Philadelphia, and 19-year-old Kiara Mackie of Philadelphia.
All six suspects were charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and third-degree conspiracy. Rashidian was also charged with speeding. They were released pending future court appearances.
