SALISBURY, Md.- A Salisbury woman is behind bars following accusations that she threw gasoline in a man's face.

The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office said that shortly before 1 a.m. Friday, a deputy responded to a reported domestic-related complaint at a home on the 30500 block of Cannon Drive.

According to police, the victim told the deputy that a woman he lives with, 33-year-old Ketiya J. Purnell of Salisbury, threw gasoline in his face during an argument.

Investigators said the victim appeared to be in visible pain as a result of being contaminated with the gasoline. He was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury for treatment.

Purnell was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and ordered held in the Wicomico County Detention Center in lieu of $20,000 bond.
