LAUREL, Del.— Delaware State Police said an elderly couple was hospitalized after two men broke into their Laurel home and attacked and robbed them early Monday morning.
Troopers said two suspects forced entry into the home of an 83-year-old woman and an 88-year-old man on the 30000 block of Old Sailor Road at around 5 a.m. and confronted the occupants, physically assaulted them, and demanded money. Authorities said the victims complied and gave the suspects an undisclosed amount of cash.
According to police, the suspects ran away from the home in an unknown direction and both victims were transported to a local hospital where they were treated and admitted in stable condition due to injuries received during the assault.
