OCEAN CITY, Md.— The Ocean City Council voted Monday to change the municipal election date to the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November, the same day as the national elections.
"Our procedures will not change," said Ocean City Clerk Kelly Allmond. "The only change is the election date and the organizational meeting date."
The change will go into effect this year, with both municipal and national elections taking place on Tuesday, Nov. 6. Officials said the municipal election is schedule to be held in a separate room of the convention center on the same day as the general election.
The municipal election remains a stand-alone election conducted by the Town of Ocean City's Board of Election Supervisors.
