GEORGETOWN, Del. (WBOC/AP)- Delaware State Police have charged a correctional officer with having sex with a female prisoner being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution in Georgetown.

Forty-nine-year-old Daniel L. Mann of Dover was arrested Tuesday and charged with three counts of sexual relations in a detention facility. He is being held on $4,500 cash bail.

Troopers said the prisoner told corrections officials that she had become involved in a sexual relationship with Mann between March 7 and May 23. Authorities said the prisoner reported that each sexual encounter occurred in the facility where she was housed and where Mann worked.
