DOVER, Del.- Tidewater Utilities recently released its annual water quality report.
The water that Tidewater provides customers is safe but the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control has some concerns about the future of wells and water sources in the Camden pump district.
DNREC has rated the source water from the Camden pump district as highly susceptible to metal contamination in the future.
Future contaminants could come from agriculture and commercial and highway activity.
Representatives from Tidewater point to their annual water quality report and say currently the water customers receive is safe. There are six water treatment plants in the area that treat the water for the Camden pump district.
