TALBOT COUNTY, Md.— The Maryland State Highway Administration has announced it will begin paving a four-mile section of westbound U.S. Route 50 in Talbot County starting Monday, July 9, and finishing in early September, weather permitting, as part of several resurfacing projects this summer on Maryland's Eastern Shore.
Authorities said crews will start the resurfacing project on Route 50 just north of the Choptank River Bridge near the Dorchester/Talbot county line and continue along the westbound lanes of US 50 for four miles to just south of MD 565 in Trappe. During construction, crews intend to implement single lane closures Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
David A. Bramble of Chestertown, SHA's contractor for the $1.8 million project, plans to use variable message boards, temporary signs, cones, and barrels to guide motorists through the work zone.
