Pet Store Burglarized in Dover

Updated:

DOVER, Del.— Delaware State Police are seeking two suspects wanted in connection with a burglary and assault that occurred at a Dover pet store early Sunday afternoon.

Police said that shortly after 1 p.m., a 43-year-old female employee entered CR Pets, located in the Rodney Village Shopper Center on 1672 South Governors Ave., in order to feed the animals. According to authorities, the store is normally closed on Sundays and as the victim was walking to the back of the store she was hit in the back with an unknown object by a suspect and knocked to the ground.

Investigators said the suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register before running out of the back door in an unknown direction. EMS crews transported the victim to Kent General Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police described both suspects as males between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-8 tall and wearing shorts.
