Jeffrey W. Brown
PARSONSBURG, Md.— A Parsonsburg man is facing assault and related charges following accusations that he ran a school bus off the road with his pickup truck.
The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office said the incident occurred at around noon Friday, July 6, on Old Ocean City Road in Parsonsburg. According to investigators, 45-year-old Jeffrey W. Brown was driving a large pickup truck with a 32-foot boat in tow when he began following a school bus too closely. Police said when Brown passed the bus with his pickup, he got so close to the bus that its driver had to pull off of the road in order to avoid a collision.
Authorities said the bus driver stated that she believed she was worried about driving her vehicle into a ditch and was concerned about her safety. The three passengers in the bus also expressed the same concerns, according to police.
Deputies obtained a warrant for Brown's arrest and took him into custody on later that same day, on charges of second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.
Brown was released on $30,000 bond.
