PITTSVILLE, Md.— A Pittsville man is behind bars after a Wicomico County Sheriff's Office deputy arrested him Sunday night following allegations that assaulted a woman, punched her car, and struck another vehicle with a hammer.

Authorities responded to a reported fight at the couple's home on the 34000 block of Railroad Avenue at around 8:46 p.m. Police said 46-year-old David K. Erdman and his girlfriend were arguing when Erdman pushed the woman out of his way.

Investigators said they found corresponding vehicle damage.

Erdman was charged second-degree assault and malicious destruction of property and ordered held in the Wicomico County Detention Center in lieu of $5,000 bond.
