Berlin Man Arrested for Assault, Robbery - WBOC-TV 16, Delmarvas News Leader, FOX 21 -

BISHOPVILLE, Md.— A Berlin man is awaiting trial after Worcester County deputies arrested him last week for a reported assault and robbery.

Deputies from the Worcester County Sheriff's office responded Thursday, July 5 to a Bishopville address for a 911 hangup call. According to police, the victim said 54-year-old William R. Lewis had assaulted her and tried to steal her purse that contained money.

Investigators said Lewis left the scene before police arrived but was found shortly after in Berlin and arrested by Worcester deputies. Lewis was charged with robbery and second-degree assault and held on $10,000 bond.
