FRUITLAND, Md.– Two men believed to have passed counterfeit currency in Fruitland, Ocean City, and Princess Anne have been arrested.

Deontrae L. Bailey, 19, of Pocomoke City, and Quincy L. Williams, 21, of Norfolk, Va., were taken into custody this week by Fruitland police. Ocean City police said that the two men were captured on surveillance cameras passing counterfeit currency in the resort town during the weekend of July 6.

The investigation reportedly involved police departments from Fruitland, Ocean City, Princess Anne, and Pocomoke City, in addition to a joint investigation that included the United States Secret Service.

Police said they are still searching for counterfeit money, but have so far recovered several thousands of dollars they believe are connected to the two suspects.

Both Bailey and Williams have been charged with the possession and passing of counterfeit currency.
