Salisbury Man Arrested for Attempted Murder

SALISBURY, Md.— A Salisbury man is behind bars on attempted murder and related charges following accusations that he beat another man so severely that it landed the victim in the hospital.

Salisbury police on Friday took 25-year-old Deangelo M. Stanley into custody at the junction of Baker and Martin streets. He was charged on a warrant with attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, and reckless endangerment.

Stanley's arrest stemmed from an incident that allegedly occurred at around midnight Wednesday, July 4. Officers said they responded to a reported assault at 319 A Charles St., where they found a 20-year-old man unconscious inside the home. According to investigators, Stanley had left the beating victim with severe injuries to his head and body.

The victim was transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center for potentially life-threatening injuries.

Following his arrest on the aforementioned charges, Stanley was ordered held without bond in the Wicomico County Detention Center.
