DEWEY BEACH, Del. (AP)- Delaware officials say Dewey Beach leaders have regularly violated the state's open meeting law and must develop a plan to fix the problem.

A deputy state attorney general says disregard for the law is so consistent that actions taken at a dozen meetings are invalid.

The finding was in response to a complaint filed by a former mayor.

The town is being ordered to submit the minutes of 12 private executive-session or public meetings held since November. It also must develop a plan to correct illegal actions taken at those meetings. Officials have to submit meeting agendas to the attorney general's office for review, and submit agenda changes 48 hours before the meeting.

Mayor Diane Hanson says she's committed to following the law.
