SALISBURY, Md.– Peninsula Regional Medical Center has been ranked among the best hospitals in the nation for 2012-2013 by U.S. News & World Report, hospital officials announced Tuesday.
The hospital has also been named a "Best Regional Hospital" on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. The "Best Hospitals" list is meant to guide patients to the hospitals with strong skills in challenging procedures, according to Avery Comarow, editor of U.S. News Health Rankings.
"All of these hospitals are the kinds of medical centers that should be on your list when you need the best care," Comarow said in a statement.
In the past, U.S. News & World Report has recognized PRMC as a "Most Connected Hospital" for using technology to support and ensure the safety of patients. In its "Best Nursing Home Study" conducted earlier this year, the magazine gave PRMC's Transitional Care Unit a five-star rating.
