DOVER, Del.— Delaware State Police say a woman was injured after a man entered her home on Thursday evening and attacked her.
The incident is reported to have happened at around 9 p.m. on the unit block of Coverly Court in Carlisle Village. Police said the suspect knocked on the door of the 26-year-old victim and when she opened it, the suspect forced his way inside, pushed the victim to the ground, and physically attacked her.
Investigators said the suspect then tried to sexually assault the victim but stopped and ran out of the home. He was last scene heading in an unknown direction. According to police, nothing was taken during the incident and the victim refused on-scene medical attention.
Police described the suspect as black, between 30 and 34 years of age, between 6-foot-1 and 6-foot-3, and between 195–210 pounds. Police said he was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and light-colored pants with a bandana covering his face.
