DOVER, Del.— Police have arrested two suspects accused of stealing numerous guns during an early Tuesday home invasion in Dover.

Dover police said that at around 1 a.m., 36-year-old William Warren entered an acquaintance's home on the 2400 block of Whiteoak Road and produced a handgun, at which time he demanded numerous firearms that Warren knew were inside the home.

Authorities said Warren took 19 firearms from the house and drove away in a vehicle occupied by several other suspects, including 48-year-old Anthony Richardson. Police said officers spotted the vehicle moments later in Simon Circle and attempted a traffic stop, but the suspects drove away and crashed into a ditch.

According to officers, Richardson and Warren ran away from the vehicle but were caught after a brief foot chase. Investigators said 14 of the firearms were found inside the vehicle.

Police said the other suspects had left the vehicle before police stopped it and are suspected of possessing the five remaining firearms including two AR-15s, two rifles, and a shotgun. None of the four victims present in the home were injured during the incident, investigators said.

Both suspects were charged with home invasion, first-degree robbery, theft, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, 17 counts of possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, four counts of aggravated menacing, 16 counts of theft of a firearm, second-degree conspiracy, and resisting arrest.

Warren and Richardson were ordered held in the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in default of unspecified bonds.
