According to investigators, a motorist passing 7680 Airey Hill Road at around 7 p.m. discovered a fire in a detached two-car garage. Officials said it took 30 firefighters from the Chestertown, Rock Hall, Kennedyville and Crumpton fire departments, approximately 10 minutes to control the blaze.

The fire caused an estimated $20,000 in structural damage and an estimated $70,000 in damage to contents, investigators said.
