MIDDLETOWN, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police say a Middletown man was critically injured when he was struck by a pickup truck driven by a friend coming to help him free his own truck.
State police say 22-year-old Kevyn Hicks got his pickup stuck in a field near Shallcross Lake Road early Monday and called the friend. Investigators say Hicks was standing in the roadway when he was struck by the vehicle driven by 21-year-old Phillip Duko, also of Middletown.
Hicks suffered multiple injuries and was taken to Christiana Hospital. Duko was not injured.
