SNOW HILL, Md.- A 48-year-old man on Wednesday pleaded guilty to everything from speeding to being high on drugs in connection with a late 2011 crash that left a baby injured in Ocean City.

Andre J. Kaczynski of Berlin faced nearly a dozen charges in the Dec. 16 crash on 142nd Street in Ocean City. Ava DelRicco, who was 1-year-old at the time, was critically injured in the crash. Police said the car Ava and her mother were riding in was stopped at a red light, when Kaczynski, who was traveling at a high rate of speed, slammed his pickup into the rear of the vehicle.

Kaczynski did not have a jury trial, but instead appeared before a judge, with Wednesday's proceedings only lasting about half an hour.

There was no comment from the public defender's office, which defended Kaczynski. The Worcester County State's Attorney's Office said in a statement that this was the "only acceptable way to proceed with this case without having a trial."

Sentencing should come within 45 days.
