EASTON, Md.– Easton police are investigating four separate thefts have occurred over the last six days.
Police said the first incident took place on July 27, when a quantity of copper wire was stolen from the backyard of a home on August Street overnight. Officers said the copper was valued at more than $300 and was part of the victims' HVAC business.
In another incident, police said two men walked out of a Lowes hardware store with six rolls of indoor copper wire shortly after 5 p.m. July 3. One of the men was described as being thin, with short brown hair, wearing a white a T-shirt, and black shorts with black and white shoes. The other man is described as having short blonde hair and a goatee, and wearing a yellow polo shirt, black shorts and black sandals. Police said the copper was worth more than $400.
In a third incident, 28 steel tent support poles were stolen from the backyard of a home in the 500 block of East Oak Avenue overnight on July 30. Authorities said the poles were painted white and were between 5-and-a-half to 6 feet in length.
Police also said a Craftsman lawnmower was stolen from a business in the 70 block of Goldsborough Street on July 31, between 10 a.m. and noon. Investigators said the lawnmower was red, and was owned by the business Butler Yard Art.
Police did not indicate that the incidents were related.
