BEAR, Del. (AP) - Chick-fil-A supporters are patronizing a Bear location of the nationwide chain, which is under criticism because of comments about gay marriage by an executive.
A steady stream of vehicles wrapped around the drive-thru lane of the fast-food outlet Wednesday in Bear. Store owner Adam Marcus said business had been non-stop since 11 a.m.
Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy told the Baptist Press last month that the Atlanta-based company was "guilty as charged" for backing "the biblical definition of a family." Gay rights groups and others answered with calls for boycotts.
In response, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, a Baptist minister, declared Wednesday "Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day."
