SALISBURY, Md.- Police have arrested a Salisbury man in connection with an early Friday shooting that occurred across the street from a bar.
Salisbury police said that at around 1:39 a.m., officers responded to a report of shots fire in the area of the La Citadel bar and lounge at 733 Roland St. According to police, the investigation revealed that several people were involved in a fight in the parking lot. Investigators said that when this fight was dispersed, a second fight began in a parking lot across the street. Police said that is when the suspect, 20-year-old Terrance Jerome Ward, removed a handgun from inside a vehicle and began walking toward the crowd. Ward then fired the handgun several times before he got back into the vehicle with several other people and fled the scene, police said.
A description of the suspect vehicle was provided to area law enforcement agencies. A Maryland State Police trooper located and stopped the vehicle in the area of Route 50 and Civic Avenue.
Investigators said a handgun was recovered from inside the vehicle and other evidence was recovered from the scene.
Ward was taken into custody and charged with reckless endangerment, wear/carry/transport handgun in vehicle, wear/carry/transport handgun on person, person under the age of 21 in possession of handgun and discharge firearm within city limits. He was ordered held in the Wicomico County Detention Center in lieu of $50,000 bond.
No one was injured during the shooting, according to police.
