NEWARK, Del.- Delaware State Police say a tip led to the arrest of a Newark couple accused of robbing a 7-Eleven convenience store.

Zachary R. Daniels and Lindsay R. Gist, both 23 years of age, were arrested Monday. Both have been charged with first-degree robbery, conspiracy and wearing a disguise during a felony.

Police say Daniels and Gist wore masks when they entered the 7-Eleven on East Chestnut Hill Road shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday. Police say the robbers were carrying a baseball bat and a club and demanded money from the 28-year-old female clerk before running out of the store with the cash.

After releasing information about the robbery to the media, Delaware Crime Stoppers received a tip identifying Daniels and Gist as the suspects. Through further investigation and search warrants, DSP Troop 2 robbery detectives said they were able to connect the couple to the robbery. Both were taken into custody Monday.

Following their arrests on the aforementioned charges, Daniels was released on $28,000 secured bond and Gist was ordered held on $28,000 secured bond.
