UNDATED- The American Automobile Association in the Mid-Atlantic reports the national gas average rose 13 cents per gallon this past week and it has been on the rise for the past five consecutive weeks.
The national average for a gallon of regular is $3.62 and the breakdown across Delmarva:
- Maryland: $3.61
- Virginia: $3.49
- Delaware: $3.65
All of these are up from what they were a week ago. Drivers said they are finding ways to help relieve the pinch at the pump.
"You really have to strategically plan your trips and as far as spending is concerned, with house hold items you have to include gas in your budget," said Mike Hilliard of Milton.
Drivers who have no choice are cutting back to save money. "Just try to wherever I go, to take care of more than just one thing on a trip," said Michael Bruce of Lewes.
AAA predicts gas prices will go up before they come down, but said motorists should see some relief when the summer driving season wraps up around Labor Day.
