COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Robert Vaughn has been added to the University of Maryland's baseball coaching staff as an assistant and recruitment coordinator.

The announcement came Thursday from the Terps head baseball coach John Szefc. The manager is excited about adding Vaughn to the squad.

"He will be an absolute star as a recruiter and as an on-field coach," remarked Szefc.

Vaughn joins the organization after spending the last two seasons coaching catchers as a volunteer assistant at Kansas State. The Humble, Texas native also gained coaching experience within the Chicago White Sox organization.

While his coaching career began in 2010, he was a catcher for four years before that for the Kansas State Wildcats, posting a 25 RBI's and being considered one of the best defensive catchers in the conference.
