SEAFORD, Del.- Investigators are searching for the cause of a Monday afternoon fire that resulted in thousands of dollars in damage to a Seaford home.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office said the blaze occurred shortly after 1 p.m. at a home located on the 10000 block of Concord Road.

The Blades Fire Department responded to the scene and was assisted by the Seaford, Laurel and Georgetown fire departments. Upon arrival they encountered heavy fire in the west end of the structure.

The home was occupied at the time of the fire. However, there were no reported injuries.  The home was not equipped with working smoke detectors, authorities said. Damages have been estimated at $60,000.

Investigators determined that the fire originated in the west end of the dwelling.
