MARDELA SPRINGS, Md.– Deputies with the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday arrested two boys in connection with multiple burglaries in Mardela Springs.
Authorities say that on Monday and Tuesday, a deputy from the Sheriff's Office took burglary reports of two separate, vacant homes. The first took place on the 500 block of Bridge Street, and the second occurred on the 400 block of Main Street. During one incident, two suspects allegedly cut a window screen and opened a window, and in the second incident the suspects were able to pull a door open.
In both incidents, officials say items such as jewelry, dolls, baseball cards, and small tools were all taken. Deputies were reportedly able to identify two boys, ages 13 and 10, who police say admitted to being involved in the burglaries and turned over much of the stolen property to authorities.
Both kids were charged on juvenile referral with second-degree burglary, theft, and malicious destruction of property. The two suspects have been forwarded to the Department of Juvenile Services for formal adjudication.
