MILFORD, Del.– A Milford man is behind bars following accusations that he burglarized a city public works building before allegedly holding up a convenience store several days later.

Milford police said the arrest of 23-year-old Ryan A. Doneker came after an investigation into the first incident, which occurred on the morning of Aug. 2. Officers said a man entered the City of Milford Public Works Complex and removed an undisclosed amount of materials and equipment.

The second incident reportedly took place on Aug. 10, at the Dash In convenience store. According to police, the suspect entered the convenience store at 3 a.m. armed with a rifle, which he pointed at the clerk and demanded money. The suspect allegedly ran from the store before receiving any money, investigators said.

Police said Doneker, who was identified as the suspect in both crimes, was arrested and charged with third-degree burglary and theft over $1500 for his alleged involvement in the burglary. Additionally, he was charged with first-degree attempted robbery; possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony; possession of a firearm by a person prohibited; and aggravated menacing in connection with the convenience store incident.

Doneker was ordered held in the Sussex Correctional Institution in default of a secured bond. No injuries were reported in either incident.
