Ocean City, MD - The energy was electric at the vert ramp on the beach in Ocean City this afternoon for the Dew Tour's Skate Vert Final. After battling through two rounds of competition, Pierre-Luc Gagnon took home the top spot with a solid last round run. His technical run used the curved coping feature of the ramp and incorporated several flip tricks, including a kickflip fakie, a switch heelflip 360 and a kickflip body varial 540. Baltimore native Bucky Lasek and Sandro Dias rounded out the podium, in second and third respectively.
"It feels great to win again at the Dew Tour," said PLG. "I had a hard time in practice, but kept my cool and threw it down when it mattered. I've done this a bunch of times, so I knew what I had to do." He also appreciated the strong support of the beach spectators. "The fans are so into it here in Ocean City," he said. "It feels great to perform in front of a crowd like this."
The Pantech Beach Championships continues tomorrow with final competitions in BMX Park and Skate Bowl airing live on NBC, as well as the newly added BMX and Skate Mega 2.0.
