Police Looking for Millsboro Sex Offender

MILTON, Del.– Delaware State Police are looking for a Millsboro sex offender wanted for failure to re-register his current address with authorities.

The Delaware State Police Sex Offender Apprehension and Registration Unit is reporting that Jackie E. Herbert Jr., 48, failed to re-register his home address within three days as required by law. State police say Herbert is a Tier II (moderate-risk) sex offender.

In February 2001, Herbert was convicted of second-degree unlawful sexual contact with a child between the ages of 1 and 11, according to the Delaware Sex Offender Registry.

Herbert is described by police as black, 5-foot-9 and 166 pounds. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or (302) 739-5882. Citizens can also contact Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333, or go online to www.tipsubmit.com.

In addition, citizens can provide a tip by text message by sending a message to 274637(CRIMES) using the keyword "DSP".
