DOVER, Del. (AP) - Federal authorities in Delaware have charged a convicted sex offender with production of child pornography.
Fifty-three-year-old David Kevin Schultz waived a preliminary hearing on Wednesday and is being held pending trial.
Court records indicate that authorities began investigating Schultz last year after a convicted sex offender charged with sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl in Maryland told investigators that Schultz made pornographic videos at his Laurel home.
Prosecutors say another man told investigators that he had several videotaped sexual encounters with a young girl at Schultz's home.
Investigators executed a search warrant in April, and Schultz was arrested last week in Wilmington.
Court records indicate that Schultz was convicted in 1995 of sex crimes involving a young girl.
A public defender representing Schultz did not immediately return a telephone message Thursday.
