LINCOLN, Del. - Troopers are investigating an attempted strong armed robbery of a Lincoln convenient store from Wednesday night.
Police say around 8 p.m., as a 55-year-old male employee and a 22-year-old male employee were working inside
Kings Market on Fleatown Rd., two black males entered the store with their faces concealed and walked
toward the counter stating it was a "hold up." As the older employee
began to run through a back door, one of the suspects, who was armed
with a handgun, fired one round in his direction,
narrowly missing him. According to authorities, the younger employee took cover behind the
counter as the two suspects fled the store without removing any
property. They were last seen running in a southbound direction towards
the neighborhood of Cedar Village. Neither of the
employees were injured in this incident.
If anyone has any information in reference to this incident, they are asked to contact the Major Crimes Unit at Troop 4 at
302-856-5850 Ext. 221 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
