CORDOVA, Md.- Good luck trying to get across Church Lane near Cordova in Talbot County. Last Sunday's powerful rainwater wiped out a 20-foot section of the road, making life difficult for local commuters.
"I have been here about nine years and I haven't seen anything like that," said Butch Chew of Cordova.
Chew lives on the other side of the gap and said getting around is no easy task.
It's inconvenient it's taking a little longer than we expected," Chew said. "A lot of people have been coming down and they just have to turn right back around and they should have a sign all the way out there that the road is temporarily closed."
If you think commuters have it rough, business owners at the Talbot Shopping Center have it worse. Fans are still running 24 hours a day to dry floors and walls and water damaged items are being hauled away.
Terry Taylor experienced this past weekend's storms from her home in Easton. She said somebody should have told those business owners about the potential of flooding before-hand.
"I think it's horrible, it's very sad and maybe they should have known before they decided to put something down here that the possibility of flooding was there. They should have known. People should have told them at least the owners of the buildings should have told them," Taylor said.
All they can do now is rebuild, and start over.
