ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (AP)- Authorities have installed a fence and police have increased patrols near the site of a fatal train derailment.
A fence is at the top of the stairs leading to the elevated tracks over Main Street. Two young women were sitting on the edge of a downtown train bridge when 21 cars derailed, burying them in coal on Aug. 20.
Howard County Executive Ken Ulman says that police patrols have increased around the tracks to discourage trespassers.
The accident is still under investigation.
