DOVER, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police are investigating a serious crash near Dover that has left a man in critical condition.

Police say 27-year-old Antoine Somerville of Frederica was driving east on Walnut Shade Road near Rising Sun on Friday night when he lost control of his vehicle. The car crossed both lanes of traffic before hitting a utility pole.

Police are investigating what caused the crash.

The road was closed for several hours and reopened early Saturday.
