Dover Woman Arrested for Lying to Police

DOVER, Del.- Authorities say a Dover woman was arrested Friday after falsely reporting several domestic incidents against her ex-husband.

According to Dover police, 29-year-old Tiffany Smith  reported that she was being victimized by her ex-husband, Gordon Smith. He was arrested on several domestic charges on Aug.  18.   

After the arrest, police said they received additional reports from Tiffany Smith that she was being stalked and was physically assaulted by her ex-husband. 

An investigation was launched and authorities report that Tiffany Smith had fabricated all complaints that she made against Gordon Smith. Police arrested her on Aug. 31.   

Authorities said Tiffany Smith faces three counts of falsely reporting an incident and one count of providing a false statement. Police said all charges against Gordon Smith were dismissed.
