Woman Arrested in 2 Armed Robberies in Del.

NEW CASTLE, Del. (WBOC/AP)- Delaware State Police have arrested a woman they say committed two armed robberies in New Castle.

Twenty-one-year-old Desere M. Stringfield of Wilmington was arrested Aug. 29 and charged with two counts of first-degree robbery and two counts of wearing a disguise during the commission of a robbery. She is being held on $65,000 secured bond.

Police said Stringfield robbed two stores at gunpoint on Aug. 10. The Wawa Food Market on East Basin Road was robbed at 2:10 a.m. The Valero Shore Stop on South DuPont Highway was robbed an hour later.

After releasing the surveillance photos of the suspect to the media, detectives received several tips identifying the suspect as Stringfield. Police said that through further investigation, detectives were able to connect Stringfield to the two robberies.
