NANTICOKE, Md.- Authorities say a fishing trip in Wicomico County ended in a violent attack that landed one man in the hospital and another in jail.

The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office reports that at around midnight Monday, Sept. 3, a group was in the process of fishing at the Nanticoke Harbor when one of the group, 19-year-old Thomas Joshua Outten of Bivalve, became enraged and allegedly attacked another member of the fishing party. Police said Outten is accused of punching, kicking and choking the victim before letting him go. The victim required transportation to the hospital for injuries sustained in the attack, according to investigators.

Outten was taken into custody later that day and charged with second-degree assault and reckless endangerment. He was ordered held in the Wicomico County Detention Center in lieu of $25,000 bond.
