DOVER, Del.- A routine speeding ticket turned into a nearly 6-hour long barricade situation in the Kentwood Estates part of Dover.
Delaware State Police police said that on Sunday morning officers pulled over a speeding driver, 29-year-old Allen Gantt, of Dover, who had a suspended license and expired insurance.
Authorities said after that, Gantt sped off and almost hit a police officer. It was at that point that police stopped their pursuit.
On Wednesday night, police spent nearly six hours outside a trailer in the Kentwood Estates area where they believed Gantt was hiding.
Around 11 p.m. Wednesday, police finally gained entrance into the home, but there was no one inside.
Police were still looking for Gantt on Thursday morning.
Residents were evacuated from their homes for a short time as a precaution Wednesday night.
No one was injured during the incident.
