KENT COUNTY, Del.- Two men have been arrested for allegedly operating a pair of meth labs in Kent County.
Authorities say they discovered both labs this week in Houston and Harrington.
Neighbors who live along Deep Grass Lane in Houston say they are concerned after 40-year-old Dennis Edge was arrested.
"It's a scary thought to think that something like that is going on two doors from your home. I lived two doors away from him. It's a very scary thought to think something like that is happening. That breeds all kinds of other crime," said Richard Lindale of Houston.
The Delaware State Police Kent County Drug Unit, and the Milford Police Department discovered the alleged meth lab in Edge's home on Wednesday.
Police found ingredients like lithium batteries, fuel, salt, sulfuric acid, plastic bottles and lots more.
The road was shut down for three hours so authorities could safely remove harmful substances from the home.
"Anytime they can take somebody like that and put them behind bars, it makes the neighborhood a lot safer. I just hope and pray that the justice system keeps him there," said Lindale.
Police discovered a second meth lab on Sunday in Harrington less than five miles away from the first one.
"You think of it as a small town. It's still small town USA. You hope that it's not going. I'm involved with the youth (in the community) and here at the martial arts school, so it's a very big worry on my mind," said John Trego, of Harrington.
Police arrested 46-year old Michael Ratledge on Sunday.
Authorities said they discovered a meth lab in his home located on Lewis Pond Lane.
"I pray that it's popping up one time and that it's not going to stay," said Trego.
Ratledge was released on a $15,500 bond.
Police say bond information has not yet been released on Edge.
Both men were arrested on a slew of charges, including possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and manufacturing with the intent to deliver meth.
