DOVER, Del.- An elderly Dover man is behind bars following accusations that he sexually solicited a pre-teen girl.

Troopers said an investigation was launched on Aug. 17, after a relative of an 11-year-old girl reported to authorities that the girl's neighbor had requested she perform unlawful sexual acts.

According to police, David A. Krutenat, 72, of Dover, approached the victim at her home several times that day. The girl was familiar with Krutenat and was given hugs and kisses that were unwanted, police said. Investigators said that when Krutenat asked the girl to perform a sexual act, she refused and Krutenat then left the property.

Krutenat was arrested on Friday, Sept. 7, after turning himself into police.

Krutenat was charged with sexual solicitation of a child, two counts of unlawful sexual contact with a person under 13, sexual harassment and five counts of offensive touching.

Police said that Krutenat was released on $21,000 unsecured bond and is not to have contact with the victim or anyone under the age of 18.

Anyone with any similar incidents regarding David A. Krutenat is asked to contact Detective Wright at (302) 741-2811 or the Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333. Information may also be provided via www.tipsubmit.com.
