Lopez Wins Del. GOP Primary for District 6 Senate Seat

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del.- Ernesto Lopez has won the Republican primary for the newly-created 6th District Senate seat, beating challenger Glen Urquhart.

With 17 out of 17 precincts reporting, Lopez had 2,163 votes, compared to 1,779 votes for Urquhart.

District 6 encompasses the Dewey Beach, Rehoboth Beach, Lewes, Milton and surrounding areas in Sussex County. 

Lopez will face Democratic candidate Andrew Staton in the November general election.
