Man Arrested for Attempted Purse Snatching - WBOC-TV 16, Delmarvas News Leader, FOX 21 -

DOVER, Del.- Dover police have arrested a man accused of trying to snatch a woman's handbag.

Police said that at around 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12,  45-year-old James Barrineau of Dover approached the 63-year-old victim as she was sitting in her vehicle in the parking lot of the Applebee's restaurant on North DuPont Highway. According to investigators, Barrineau attempted to remove the woman's purse from her shoulder but was unsuccessful.

Barrineau then walked to the rear of the restaurant where police say he was taken into custody. He was charged with first-degree attempted robbery and ordered held in the James T. Vaughn Correctional Facility in default of $20,000 secured bond.
