








MINNEAPOLIS– The Salisbury University football team is ranked No. 8 in the latest d3football.com top 25 poll, the website announced on Sunday.
Salisbury (2-1) received 449 points in the poll after a 69-6 win over North Carolina Wesleyan College on Saturday. The Sea Gulls finished ahead of California Lutheran University (411) and Empire 8 Athletic Conference foe, St. John Fisher College (373) in the top 10.
The University of Mount Union (623, 23 first-place votes) took over the top spot in the poll after Salisbury's next opponent, No. 18 Buffalo State College, knocked off the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, 7-6, ending the Warhawks' national-best 46-game winning streak.
The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor also topped then-No. 3 Wesley College to claim No. 2 with 598 points and two first-place votes. Linfield College beat Cal Lutheran (957) to move into the third spot followed by UW-W (530).
After a bye, Salisbury opens Empire 8 play at Buffalo State, Saturday, Sept. 29 at noon.
