MILLSBORO, Del.- Delaware State Police are looking for three suspects in a shooting that left a man injured on the 27000 block of the River Winds Development in Millsboro.

Police and EMS responded to a 9-1-1 call at 12:40 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 19.

Police say the victim was a 25-year-old man. According to investigators, the victim and a friend went outside to investigate noises outside the home. The friend walked toward Chris Drive while the victim investigated his girlfriend's car. Troopers said that when the victim opened the car door, he was pushed inside by a would-be robber and told not to move. The victim told troopers he saw a male suspect pointing a handgun at him while the two other suspects were nearby.

When the victim tried to run inside his home, he was shot in the back of his thigh. Police said the suspect then grabbed him and began pistol-whipping him in the head.

When the three suspects learned police were on the way, they reportedly ran away.

EMS transported the male victim to Beebe Hospital where he was treated for the gunshot wound and facial injuries and released.

DSP ask for your help to find the three suspects:

  • Black male, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10, 160 – 180 pounds, and last seen wearing gray camouflage (No further description)
