Milford Police Arrest Suspected Serial Shoplifter

MILFORD, Del.- Police have arrested a man accused of stealing from the Milford Wal-Mart on 30 separate occasions.

Milford police said 36-year-old Derrick L. Colon of Harrington was arrested on Sept. 20 for theft from the Wal-Mart.

According to authorities, a further investigation revealed that Colon had used tools to remove merchandise from packaging on over 30 different occasions between July and August.

Colon was charged with 31 counts of possession of shoplifting tools, 31 counts of organized retail theft and shoplifting under $1,000. He was ordered held in the Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $10,950 secured bond.
