GRASONVILLE, Md.- Maryland State Police say a man wanted in connection with a June home invasion robbery in Grasonville has been captured in Pittsburgh, Pa.
According to police, the crime occurred June 22 at the 300 block of Winchester Creek Drive in Queen Anne's County. Troopers said that during this incident two suspects armed with a handgun entered the home and assaulted its occupants before taking approximately $1,200 in cash and a cellphone.
Investigators from the MSP Centreville Barrack said that in August they were able to positively identify one of the two suspects involved in the robbery. A warrant was obtained for the suspect, 31-year-old James Thomas Greene III of Chester, Md., on Aug. 15.
On Thursday night, Sept. 20, fugitive squad members from the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office in Pittsburgh, Pa., were conducting home visits with parole and probation officers in a suburb outside of Pittsburgh. Authorities said that during the home visits they encountered Greene, who is on probation in Pennsylvania for a handgun violation. A routine warrant check revealed that Greene was wanted by the MSP Centreville Barrack for the June 22 home invasion and was taken into custody.
