DINWIDDIE, Va. (AP)- A woman will pay $15,068 in restitution to Dinwiddie County for the cost of caring for 94 horses seized from her farm.
Media outlets say Sara Johnson agreed with prosecutors that there was enough evidence to convict her on 10 animal cruelty counts.
Under the agreement reached Monday, Johnson will have no additional animals for two years. Her case will be continued until September 2013.
Dinwiddie County Animal Control seized the horses in May. Investigators say the animals were malnourished and in poor condition.
Johnson agreed at a May hearing in Dinwiddie General District Court to forfeit the horses.
