DOVER, Del. (AP) - A federal appeals court has rejected appeals from two New Castle day school operators who were convicted of tax evasion.
The 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia this week upheld the convictions of Troy and Monnie Dorsey on charges of conspiracy to defraud the Internal Revenue Service and filing false tax returns for tax years 2004 through 2006. The court also upheld Troy Dorsey's conviction for structuring cash deposits to avoid tax reporting requirements.
Authorities said the couple failed to report hundreds of thousands of dollars in business income from the operation of their school, the Day School for Children, in New Castle.
